| Development | | | Tub-Ex has developed a special kind of breathable film for a company, | | which has invented a special range of "cushion" like products for the medical sector. You can read more about it here - where you also find links to what the media has written about the project. | | |
| The Rilsan bags used in the field | | | We have made a little film, so you can see how the Rilsan bags can be used in the field. | | Please click here to learn more or go to our Rilsan page for further information. Please note that this is not the sole purpose, the bags can be used for. They are also very suitable, if you need to collect other kinds of samples, which has to be taken to the lab for further analysis or investigation. | Ringing of casings | | | We can ring your shrinkable casings in calibres from 35 to 85 mm. | | (equal to lay flat size 35 to 120 mm). Tub-Ex has a unique coiling/ringing system. Instead of “ringing” we have chosen to call our process “coiling” as our process is very different from normal ringing process.
Our process gives a higher stability of the coil and a much lower percentage of loss. Using the HT system, you might even gain metres for some casing types.
A loss of material of up to 10 to 20% is the norm in the ringing process depending on the type of casing, but with the HT-coiling system, we have managed to achieve uo to 8% gained meters compared to the usual loss. Please contact Dorthe Nielsen for futher information - or fill in our contact form.
| Rilsan bags | | | TU-Bergakademie Freiberg, IÖZ - Interdisciplinary Environmental Research Centre is using the Tub-Ex Rilsan bag for Bra-Sol 2010 project in Brasil. | | BraSol-2010 is a bi-national project, dedicated to establishing a reliable database on soil geochemistry in Brazil. It starts with a pilot project in north eastern Brazil in July/August 2008; at the same time a contribution to the UNESCO “International Year of Planet Earth (IYPE).
The Brazilian-German team of students and experienced scientists will take representative soil samples that permit a reliable large-scale characterisation of soils under a wide range of land-uses. Samples will be analyzed in both countries and results presented to authorities, decision makers and planners – as well as to the interested public. Data will be interpreted according to climatologically and hydrological gradients, to land-use types, lithology and soil-types. While the project mainly aims at supporting sustainable development for the country and thus to provide a scientific basis for more intelligent land-use, there will emerge additional scientific results, related e.g., to natural resources, to weathering behaviour under different climatologically conditions, to soil fertility, etc.

| Rilsan Bags | | | The Tub-Ex Rilsan bag is being used to collect samples in an European survey titled: EuroGeoSurveys Geochemical mapping of agricultural and grazing land soil of Europe (GEMAS) | The project is managed by Dr. Clemens Reimann from Geological Surway of Norway and the geological surveys take place in 34 European counties, covering an area of 5,6 million km2. The aim of the survey is to provide: "harmonized geochemical data of arable land and land under permanent grass cover at the continental European scale". You can read more about the GEMAS project at www.ngu.no/no/hm/Publikasjoner/Rapporter/2008/2008-038/
The bags used for this project are 250 x 500 x 0,04 mm clear - with a white field for writing.
If you want to know more about the sample bags - please contact Dorthe Nielsen - tel. +45 9896 4701 or e-mail to dorthe@tub-ex.com

Wall thickness ranges from 40-120 µ ±10%
The Polylin® P has a very high water barrier and is suitable for cooking up to 120 °C as well as for flow wrap packaging.
| Dry aging of beef in Tublin® | | | In 2005 a study of ”Dry aging of beef in Tublin” was carried out at the Kansas State University, USA. | Tub-Ex has developed the TUBLIN® over the past years. TUBLIN® Dry is a product under constant development.
Our customers have made trials with Spanish Serrano and Italian Parma Ham, as well as in cheese production — and with good results.
A product packed in TUBLIN® Dry will dry quicker than without any packaging, at the same time it is sealed from bacteria. It can be closed under vacuum.
In 2005 a study of ”Dry aging of beef in Tublin” was carried out at the Kansas State University, USA. The report was later published in ”Meat Science” (Volume 73, Issue 4, August 2006, Pages 674-679).
Read the abstract here: “The objective of this experiment was to compare traditional dry aging of beef with a novel technique of dry aging in a highly moisture-permeable bag. Four equal-sized sections from paired beef strip loins were dry aged traditionally, unpackaged, or packaged in the experimental bag for 14 or 21 d at 3 °C. No differences (P > 0.05) were noted for pH, moisture, fat, total plate counts, cook loss, shear force, or any measured sensory attribute between the two aging treatments after either aging period. After 21 d, however, dry aging in the bag (versus traditional dry aging) decreased (P < 0.05) weight loss during aging, trim loss after aging, and yeast counts on lean tissue and increased lactic acid bacteria counts (P < 0.05) on adipose and lean tissue. Dry aging in a highly moisture-permeable bag is feasible, will positively impact yields and reduce microbial spoilage, and will have no negative impact on product quality.”,
